Photo Diary Series #3

Two days in Los Angeles was all it took for me to fall in love. Of course, I’d been there before – but this time felt different, right down to my bones. I set no foot near Rodeo Drive or the Hollywood sign. I kept close to the neighborhoods that I connected with most, and I distinctly felt my experience shift away from that of all my previous visits. The city emanated a feeling that felt exciting yet simultaneously familiar, and more than ever before, I connected to what LA has to offer. In the course of a weekend, LA became a city I could imagine embracing as a home. Day 1 ☆ After a failed attempt to visit the Griffith Observatory, Saturday was spent along the sidewalks of Melrose Avenue, day and night. Quintessential food and coffee was tasted at Urth Café and Alfred Coffee, only to be worked off by exploration of residential streets. Upcoming episodes include Playground Love, All Night Diner, and Off Season. Each episode pays homage to transition, life at 19- each episode using themes of classic cinema, music, or art.
