If you’re anything like me, cafes are one of your many creative outlets. There’s no better way to spend a Saturday morning than sitting in a cafe with a chai tea latte in one hand and a book in the other. I spend my time at cafes for many reasons and the atmosphere never gets old; in fact, in only gets better each time. Here are some of my favorite things to do at a cafe:
Read or write. I do the majority of my writing in cafes, drawing inspiration from the people around me and the inviting atmosphere and decor. Though sometimes cafes can get a little noisy, I still manage to concentrate in my own little world, free of distractions. Plus, the cozy arm chairs are the perfect place to curl up with your favorite book.
Meet up with a friend. Catch up with an old friend and reminisce over coffee and a pastry. Laugh at old times and share new dreams together.
Befriend a stranger. I love how easy it is to strike up a conversation with a stranger in a cafe. Maybe it’s the inviting atmosphere, but I find it much easier to chat with someone next to me over a cappuccino than any other place. Ask your neighbor what they’re sipping on, or ask the person in line behind you what they recommend. Comment on the book your neighbor is reading or compliment the woman near you on her outfit.
Try something new. Scratch another beverage off your cafe bucket list. Try one of the mouthwatering pastries you’ve been eying up. Buy an organic health bar for your walk home.
Do homework. Doing your homework is a lot easier when you can take a sip of a creamy caramel macchiato between each math problem!
Use your local cafe as a getaway, as an escape from reality, as a place for opportunity.
Enjoy your stay!
